| 23 June: From Hanoi to Singapore. Crossing the South China Sea |
This picture was taken with my humble iphone. I'm amazed by the colours and the clarity. Thumbs up! One of my favourite out of the plane window shots, a keeper! (: Blogger's colour accuracy isn't spot on and this picture is a lot darker than it is, plus all the light green hues have somehow turned orangey.
We had a lovely time in Sapa. It was more beautiful than I had ever imagined especially when we trekked across the mountains and valleys. The air was crisp and fresh and we were blessed with perfect weather almost everyday. We did get bitten a lot by mosquitoes one humid night after an evening's downpour so we left Sapa with battle scars for souvenirs!
Halong Bay was equally astounding. There we only four of us on our Chinese junk boat and so the staff (8 of them!) pandered to our every whim and fancy. Not that we needed it! The junk had been fitted with every conceivable western appurtenance. But it was of course it was Halong Bay herself that garnished the plate.
What a wonderful vacation!
