With new trips brewing, my heart feels a little lighter. SO much work these days, and the presidential elections, my, it is giving me such a headache.
Firstly, it took me more than two weeks to figure out that P.E. stood for presidential elections. So all the time my classmates and friends and the newspapers headlines said "P.E.", I stupidly thought they were talking about Physical Education or some newly minted fad. And then the four presidential hopefuls, very unfortunately, all had to have the same surnames ruling out the possibility of referring to them by their surnames. So newspapers, teachers, friends, facebook statues, started referring to them by their initials, which of course makes matters worse! And I shan't go on to how they all look remarkably similar!
Isn't there a glossary or something for all the strange acronyms Singapore is so fond of conjuring! It drives me nuts when I can't even begin to understand what the subject of the conversation is.
If I were Queen, I would ban all forms of acronyms, short-forms and initials.
