The June holidays are almost here but there's not going to be much of a summer vacation for us. We both have jobs that do not see the oxymoronic nature of "holiday homework". It should clearly be abolished!
Thankfully, we managed to sneak in a little more than a wee week - eight days to be very precise - to explore Northern Vietnam.
Our first trip to Vietnam was more than four years ago. We were there for a luxurious two weeks, but somehow still manage to miss out on two of the biggest, most stunning natural landscapes. This time, we're giving the big cities a miss and heading out to Sa pa Valley for four days, spending the other two to three days in the Ha long Bay area.
We've just read that June will be the rainy season up North (especially) Sapa, so wish us all the best!

Over the busy weekend, I met up with friends to draft more travel plans, treated my mum to the dinner (something I've been wanting to do for the longest time), watched two movies, sourced and paid for 150 gifts, verified my documents, visited the dentist, and signed papers for an apartment.
In the next eleven days, I have more than 150 letters to hand write, 150 profiling forms to fill in, 150 gifts to wrap, 150 goodbyes to say, three travel itineraries (1 of my own, 2 for friends) to draw up, a meeting to attend, scripts to be marked, grades to be collected, table to be cleared, notes to be filed up and a lot of packing and re-packing for a (new) life, unemployed and without money. I hope I survive.
