Between Christmas celebrations, welcoming the new year, travelling to Morocco and then Canada, I had nary a moment to think about what I would like for myself this 2011.
I usually dislike it when people say they feel 'recharged' and 'energised' by a 'much needed break'. These are words too many people use to buy an excuse to validate their escape (with a little fanfare and pomp) from their boring and mundane existence, out of a need to install climatic episodes so life would be a little more than a dull heartbeat on an electrocardiograph. But perhaps they mean that breaks offer an opportunity to begin again, a way of locating a new beginning, the way how a New Year always brings with it a lot of hope, zeal and zest of what may be.
I'm not a deep thinker, and I never philosophize, so "to work hard and travel harder" sounds like an easypeasy, fine, dandy thing to look forward to and eventually fulfill. In the meantime, a small part of me would like to think of what else I could do for money and how else I could make "a much needed break" something of the past so that sometime down the road, my new year's resolution would read "to work harder by traveling hard".
