Quite soon, my friends and I will be meeting up to "shape-up" our Canada plans! And doing just that with my packet of nasi padang would make my day just so fine and dandy!
For the uninformed, nasi padang is delightful Indonesian dish of steamed rice served with an assortment of meat and vegetables. Through a glass panel, one points at the dish one fancies and the stall helper scoops a huge dollap of awesome-ness onto the white mould of rice. My favourite combination is rendang (which is from the Minangkabau culture), batam fish cooked in chili sauce and brinjal tossed in an assortment of fiery chili padi. These ingredients transform my boring mould of white rice into muddy shades of brown - slightly messy, but they taste and smell so good!
Perhaps I will put up pictures after today's delectable lunch break! My stomach and I can hardly wait! Back to reading Romeo and Juliet!
